  • Composition - Each vial contains Caspofungin acetate equivalent to Caspofungin 50 mg/ 70mg
  • Description - Caspofungin acetate for Injection is a sterile, lyophilized product for intravenous (IV) infusion that contains a semisynthetic lipopeptide (Echinocandin) compound synthesized from a fermentation product of Glarea lozoyensis. Caspofungin is an Echinocandin antifungal that inhibits the synthesis of b (1,3)-D-glucan, an integral component of the fungal cell wall.
  • Indications & Usage - In adults and paediatric patients (3 months and older): For invasive candidiasis, Empirical therapy for presumed fungal infections in febrile neutropenic patients, Treatment of Candidemia and the following Candida infections: Intraabdominal abscesses, Peritonitis and Pleural space infections, Treatment of Esophageal Candidiasis, Treatment of invasive Aspergillosis in patients who are refractory to or intolerant of other therapies.
  • Dosage & administration - Administer as a slow IV infusion over approximately 1 hour. Do not administer as an IV bolus injection. Do not mix or co-infuse Caspofungin with other medications or infuse with dextrose-containing solutions.
  • Storage conditions - Reconstituted Caspofungin in the vial may be stored at 25o C or less for 1 hour prior to dilution.
