  • Composition - Each film coated tablet contains Voriconazole IP 200 mg.
  • Description - Voriconazole is a triazole antifungal agent, is available as film coated tablets for oral administration. Primary mode of action of Voriconazole is the inhibition of fungal cytochrome P450-mediated 14 alpha-lanosterol demethylation, an essential step in fungal Ergosterol biosynthesis. Voriconazole is designated chemically as (2R, 3S)-2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)-3-(5-fluoro-4-pyrimidinyl)-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-2-butanol.
  • Indications & Usage - Voriconazole tablets are indicated for use in 12 years or older patients for the treatment of Invasive aspergillosis, Candidemia (non-neutropenics) and disseminated candidiasis in skin, abdomen, kidney, bladder wall, and wounds, Esophageal candidiasis and Serious infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum and Fusarium species including Fusarium solani, in patients intolerant of, or refractory to, other therapy.
  • Dosage & administration - Recommended loading dose for patients of 40 kg or above is 400 mg every 12 hours followed by 200 mg twice daily maintenance dose. Recommended loading dose for patients less than 40 kg is 200 mg every 12 hours followed by 100 mg twice daily maintenance dose. Tablets should be taken at least one hour before, or one hour following, a meal.
  • Storage conditions - Store protected from light & moisture, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
