  • Composition - Each vial contains Daptomycin 350 mg for injection.
  • Description - Daptomycin is a lipopeptide antibiotic used in the treatment of systemic and life-threatening infections caused by Gram-positive organisms.
  • Indications & Usage - Complicated skin and skin structure infections, staphylococcus aureus bloodstream infections (Bacteremia) including right sided infective endocarditis due to Staphylococcus aureus.
  • Dosage & administration - ADULTS: Administer to adult patients intravenously in 0.9% sodium chloride, either by injection over a 2-minute period or by infusion over a 30-minute period. For CSSTI: 4 mg/kg is administered intravenously once every 24 hours for 7 to 14 days. For bacteraemia: 6 mg/kg is administered intravenously once every 24 hours for 2 to 6 weeks.
  • Pediatrics (1-17 YEARS OF AGE) - Unlike in adults, do NOT administer by injection over 2 minute period. Administer 5-10 mg/kg to pediatric patients intravenously in 0.9% sodium chloride by infusion over a 30- or 60-minute period based on age once every 24 hour up to 14 days.
  • Storage conditions - Store at 2°C-8°C. Store in the original package. Avoid excessive heat.
